Our Featured Pet…
Emily

Emily is an adorable little mix, possibly dachshund and sheltie. She is a real love bug and insists on getting attention from everyone around her. Emily is settling in well and we are getting to know her better every day. She walks well on a leash most of the time and she acts as if she may be housetrained. If not I feel she would housetrain quite easily. She is a great little dog that loves to be with people. She will make a great family pet and companion! Emily is around 1 - 1 1/2 years old and weighs about 21 lbs. She is very sweet and friendly. Emily is also a very smart girl - she knew how to push up the latch to open her kennel door in about 5 seconds. She loves to play with her puppy, Dorothy and she also loves attention from people. Her favorite thing to do is give kisses. Emily has already been spayed and is current on vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and is on heartworm and flea preventative. Please consider adopting this sweet little girl today!

News
Dreamland Animal Rescue is currently looking into building/purchasing an adoptions outreach facility.
This would be an area where we could hold adoption events (year round) and if possible a place that could have regular hours of operation so that the public could stop in to get information on: adoptable animals and meeting them, spay and neuter help, and animal care advice. This would also be a place where we could hold fundraisers and special events for the rescue. This would not be a shelter facility and if animals were kept here it would be only temporarily such as during adoption events and regular operating hours so that the public could come see and meet them.
If you own a building in Whitesburg or surrounding area and would like to sale or donate it to the rescue please contact us. All donations are tax-deductible. Also, if you have an empty building or store that you just want occupied so it doesn’t stay empty for so long we would be interested in using a building on a temporary basis as well until we find something more permanent. Please understand that ALL of our funding comes from donations so we cannot afford a huge monthly expense related to a building at this time.
Monetary donations are also needed to help fund this project which would allow us to help the animals and the public more.
If you would like to donate to the adoption outreach facility fund please let us know. Write “adoption outreach” on checks and include “adoption outreach” when making a donation via PayPal.
If you are a business that would be interested in donating supplies to help run this facility this would be greatly appreciated. Just let us know what you have in mind.
We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations made are tax-deductible.
WE URGENTLY NEED FOSTER HOMES!!!! Foster homes are needed for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. Since we do not have a shelter all of the animals that we rescue must be placed in foster homes until they can find their forever homes. This means we can not take in new animals unless we have foster homes to place them into. Fostering is a great way to help an animal in need while he/she waits for his/her permanent home. Foster homes provide a safe haven where an animal can get the tender loving care he or she needs. Foster homes also help teach animals about living in a home environment and how to trust people. DAR provides all medical care and medicines that a foster animal may need and the foster home agrees to provide food, cat litter, etc. Often we have these items available through donations that can be used when available. Click here to fill out a foster home application.
If you cannot foster, but would still like to help contact us about sponsoring a pet. Sponsoring a pet means that you donate an amount toward the care of a specific animal. This money may be used to cover a special medical procedure, medications, or to reduce the pet’s adoption fee to make him/her more appealing. Sponsorships can be done as a one time gift or on a monthly basis until the animal is adopted.
2nd CHANCE FUND

The 2nd Chance Fund was set up in honor of Chance, one of our first rescues with serious medical problems. His injuries required that his leg be amputated. This put a huge strain on the rescue to pay his medical bills, because we won’t give up on any animal if we feel we can give them a good quality of life in a loving home. The 2nd Chance Fund was set up to help pay these added expenses to insure that we never have to turn an animal away because his/her medical expenses are too high. Chance is now happy and healthy and has been adopted. If you would like to help other animals like Chance please send donations to P.O. Box 249 Ermine, KY 41815 or click the DONATE button above. Please write 2nd Chance Fund on check to ensure it goes to this cause.

Who We Are
Dreamland Animal Rescue is dedicated to helping stray, abandoned and abused animals find new, loving, forever homes. We do not have a shelter, so all of are animals are placed in foster homes. Some of the animals also spend time at our veterinarian’s office until they can be placed in foster homes. We are in great need of foster homes for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. If you would like to foster an animal please contact us.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting one of our available pets click here to fill out an adoption application. We will contact you as soon as possible. If you would like more information about a particular pet please feel free to e-mail us your questions. There is an adoption fee for each pet adopted. The adoption fee for most cats and kittens is $100. The adoption fee for most dogs and puppies is $130. This fee includes vaccinations and spay or neuter. All animals are kept on flea and tick preventative and all dogs are kept on heartworm preventative.
Cat adoption fee includes ($100): Felv/FIV test, 4/1 vaccine*, Felv vaccine*, 1 year rabies vaccine, fecal check, deworming, flea and tick preventative, microchip and spay/neuter*.
Dog adoption fee includes($130): 8/1 vaccine*, Bordatella vaccine*, 1 year rabies vaccine, Heartworm test (if over 6 months of age), fecal check, deworming, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, microchip and spay/neuter*.
*Note: Puppies and kittens receive a series of vaccinations. All puppies and kittens will be up to date on vaccines at the time of adoption. Some animals may require boosters after they have been adopted. It is the responsibility of the new owner to make sure the puppy/kitten receives these vaccinations.
*Note: Animals are not spayed/neutered until they reach at least 5 months old. Any animal adopted that has not yet been spayed/neutered will have an appointment made with our veterinarian to have this surgery when the animal is old enough. This is included in the adoption fee, so all the adoptive family must do is bring the animal to the vet for their appointment. If someone wishes to adopt an animal, but lives too far away to bring the animal to our veterinarian, then they must schedule an appointment with their veterinarian to have the animal spayed/neutered. They must then send a letter of proof from their veterinarian stating that the animal has been spayed/neutered.

We do not have a shelter, but if you are interested in a pet we can arrange a meeting for you.
